It was great staying at Romain's place - we enjoyed Medellin much more than expected, somehow, this city is relaxed and Romains place is a very good one to start exploring Medellin, where you would take taxis anyway given that most of Medellin is a few euros/dollars taxi ride away. The reception was very enjoyable and Christian (the driver Romain arranged for us) was also very helpful. We went to Guatape with him which I would also recommend. When you are there, also consider having dinner at nearby Restaurant La Guayaba, better than the average touristic restaurant in El Poblado. Also noteworthy: the internet at Romain's was good, which is not always the case! Finally: we also enjoyed having a lesson from the "Salsa Professor" Romain's cousin had arranged for us!

Loved the neighborhood - really down to earth with people that were very welcoming. 20th street, just a few blocks away, has a great community feel - bakery, ice creams, small store, haircuts. May have had the best haircut of my life on 20th street - for 10,000 pesos. People on the street were super friendly. Romain and his team were responsive. They picked us up from the airport for a reasonable fee. Would recommend this as a great place for a family or small group. Not as flashy as Poblado, but a great introduction into life of Medellin.
